The beloved coach of ‘The Voice’ has announced that he will not be returning for the next season—potentially marking a definitive farewell.
Back in September, the renowned singing competition show The Voice made its debut for its 28th season on NBC. This latest installment welcomed back four well-known coaches: Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire. In this season, Bublé and Horan aimed to claim their third victory, while Reba sought her second title and Snoop was on the hunt for his first. During the live finale broadcast on December 16, viewers witnessed Team Niall’s Aiden Ross being crowned the champion of season 28, triumphing over Team Snoop’s Ralph Edwards. This win solidified Ross’s undefeated status, as he had previously secured victories in seasons 23 and 24.
Looking ahead, season 29 is set to launch on February 23, 2026, at 9 p.m. Eastern time, featuring previous champions Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine back in their iconic red chairs. However, a report from the U.S. Sun on December 17 suggests that audiences may have seen the last of one particular star from season 28.
Is This Beloved Coach Bidding Farewell to ‘The Voice’?
During the opening episode of the two-part finale for season 28, Michael Bublé delivered an emotional address to finalist Jazz McKenzie that caught the attention of many viewers. "I wrote you last night; I told you that you are the light… this is it. This is my last time here," the 50-year-old singer expressed before McKenzie ultimately finished in sixth place. "I leave this show, and let me tell you, Jazz McKenzie, what a way to go. You are perfect."
Although Bublé did not provide further details at the time, sources later informed the Sun that the acclaimed jazz-pop singer plans to step away from the show, citing difficulties with being apart from his family.
"Michael has already indicated that he is finished with the show after this season," the source stated, adding that the negative feedback from fans has significantly affected him, leading him to prioritize his personal well-being and family time.
Bublé was aiming for his third consecutive win after achieving success with back-to-back victories in his first two seasons, coaching Sofronio Vasquez in season 26 and Adam David in season 27.
In addition, Michael Bublé is reportedly working on at least one new project. Although the five-time Grammy winner hasn’t put out new music since his 2022 album Higher, he shared exciting news during a recent guest appearance on the Not Gonna Lie podcast with Kylie Kelce, revealing that he is in the process of creating a country album.
"I’m so thrilled about this record. Honestly, I don’t know if ten people will enjoy it, but that doesn’t concern me. I believe I’ve earned the right to produce something beautiful," the ‘Feeling Good’ artist expressed passionately.
