1 cup mayonnaise (low-fat may be used)
1 cup buttermilk
2 Tbsp. green onions, minced (tops only or chives)
1/4 tsp. onion powder or 1 Tbsp. fresh onions, minced
2 tsp. parsley, minced
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. garlic powder or 1/2 to 1 garlic clove, finely minced
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper

Combine ingredients in a container with a lid and refrigerate before serving. Makes 2 cups. For Ranch Dip, use sour cream or yogurt in place of buttermilk.

2 Tbsp. chili sauce or ketchup
2 Tbsp. green bell peppers, minced
1 Tbsp. fresh or 1 1/2 tsp. dried parsley
1/2 tsp. onion powder or 2 Tbsp. onion, minced
1/2 tsp. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. lemon juice 1
hard-boiled egg, chopped

Combine all the ingredients in a bowl except egg. Mix well. Stir in the egg. Refrigerate. Makes 1 1/3 cups.

1/4 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. lemon juice

Salad

1 head Iceberg lettuce, rinsed, cut into 6 wedges
6 slices bacon, cookedandcrumbled
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
1/4 cup chives or green onions, chopped

Directions:

Mix the first 6 ingredients for the dressing the day before servingand chill.

Put a wedge of lettuce onto each plate. Top with dressingandsprinkle with mixture of bacon, Parmesan and chives (mixed together).

1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. parsley, minced
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. dried basil or oregano
1 tsp. sugar

Combine ingredients in a large jar with tight lid. Shake well. Makes 1 1/2 cups.

For Creamy Italian Dressing beat 1/2 cup mayonnaise into Italian Vinaigrette.

For Low-Calorie Vinaigrette substitute apple juice for the oil and reduce vinegar to 1/3 cup.

Old Fashioned Salad Dressing Recipe

2 cups sugar
2 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground mustard
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup vinegar
1 cup water
mayonnaise

In a saucepan, combine sugar, flour, salt and mustard. Stir in eggs. Gradually stir in vinegar and water until smooth. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Cover and refrigerate. Just before serving, combine desired amount of dressing base with mayonnaise. Refrigerate leftovers. Tastes great on potato salad, coleslaw or salad greens. Makes 4 cups.

1 cup buttermilk

1/4 tsp. dill, dried
1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground

Combine all ingredients in a jar with a tight lid. Shake well. Refrigerate. Makes 1 1/4 cups.

3 Ingredient Salad Dressing Recipe

1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. cider vinegar

Mix all ingredients and pour the dressing over the salad. Toss and refrigerate 1 hour.

Crunchy Veggie Salad Recipe

2-3 cups broccoli
2-3 cups cauliflower
1 cup (4 oz.) grated cheddar cheese
1/3 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup raisins
